Writ to: Sheriff of Kent

Sent by: Chancery

Endorsement: Thomas Boleyn, Sheriff, certifies that the tenement referred to in the writ is in the city of Rochester, for which the Mayor and citizens have return of writs, and so he could not value it. The writ arrived too late for him to execute the rest of it in the time allowed.

Inquisition and return: Date to be returned: 6.10.1518 The Sheriff replied to a previous writ that on the day of the recognisance William was seized in demesne of the manor or tenement of Higham Reggwey, a messuage, and 100 acres of land in Higham [Shamwell Hundred, Kent], and a messuage called Little Oakley and certain lands in Higham, and a messuage called The Greyhound in the parish of St Nicholas in the city of Rochester, and a salt marsh called Brendwike lying in the parish of Newington next to Sittingbourne in Kent [Milton Hundred], worth £12 a year.
