Debtor: Edmund Church of Babraham in Cambs., gentleman, and William Marshall, of London.

Creditor: Richard Nayler, citizen and alderman of London, now deceased.

Endorsement: William Carewe, knight, Sheriff, replies that by virtue of this writ he delivered to the creditor's executors on 6/11/1493 the manor named in the writ. Edmund Church and William Marshall were not found in the bailiwick. The writ was endorsed by William Carewe, but his predecessor as Sheriff, John Wingfield, delivered the property.

Inquisition and return: Date to be returned to Chancery: 27/01/1494. The Sheriff had replied to a previous writ that on 20/06/1484 Edmund Church was seized in demesne and in fee of a certain manor called Chyrches in South Wootton in [Freebridge Hundred] Norfolk, worth £10 a year. Edmund and William had no other lands or tenements in the bailiwick, and no goods and chattels.
