- Inquisition and return: Date to be returned to Chancery: 6/10/1493. The Sheriff had replied to a previous writ that on the day of the recognisance Richard was seized in demesne of two messuages, a dove-cote, a barn, 40 acres of land, 5 acres and 3 rods of meadow, 29 acres and 3 rods of pasture in Wingham Ash next to Wingham [Wingham Hundred] and Elmstone [Preston Hundred] in Kent, worth 8m. a year. He had in his possession a horse, a cow, a boar, a sow, 3 piglets, a gander, 2 geese, 4 qrs of wheat, 6 qrs of barley, 5 measures of vetches called Tares, 5 measures of peas, 1½ measures of beans, 4 measures of oats, 30 rabbits called Toppes, vetches called Tares, a plough, and a yoke for oxen , worth altogether 100s. 11d.
