Debtor: John Nicholas {Nicolas}, and William Neville {Nevyle}, citizens and merchant-tailors, of London.

Creditor: James Wilford, citizen and alderman, of London.

Amount: £40.

Before whom: William Brown the elder, Mayor of the Staple of Westminster.

Endorsement: Humphrey Torell, Sheriff, replies that John Nicholas and William Neville were not found in the bailiwick.

Inquisition and return: Date to be returned: 13/09/1509. Attached is the inquisition made at Willingale on 04/11/1509 before Humphrey Torell, Sheriff. At the time of the recognisance John Nicholas was seised in demesne of a messuage, a toft, and a garden in West Ham [in Becontree Hundred, Essex], worth 10s. a year after expenses; he had no goods or chattels in the bailiwick. William Neville had no lands, tenements, goods, or chattels in the bailiwick.
