Creditor: John Forster, citizen and skinner, of London, and William Chivaler, chaplain.

Amount: £220.

Before whom: Geoffrey Fielding, Mayor of the Staple of Westminster.

Sent by: Chancery.

Endorsement: William Peyton, knight, Sheriff, replies that Thomas Cantelowe was not found in the bailiwick. He has seized his property into the King's hands.

Inquisition and return: Date to be returned: 26/06/1468. Attached is: (a) The inquisition made at Chelmsford on 14/06/1468 before William Peyton, Sheriff. Thomas Cantelowe had no goods or chattels in the bailiwick. He had a tenement, called Courtys, in Aveley [Chafford Hundred], and another in the same township, called Bankys, with lands, meadows, pastures, marshes, and woodland, worth altogether 104s. 5d. a year after expenses. (b) A writ, dated 28/11/1468, instucting the Sheriff of Essex, to hand over the property to the creditor until the debt, with costs and damages, has been paid; it is endorsed by Walter Writtle, esquire, Sheriff, that he had handed them over.
