Debtor: Thomas Sutton, citizen and goldsmith, of London, and Ralph Saunderson, of London, yeoman.

Creditor: John Hecock, citizen and wax-chandler, of London, now deceased.

Amount: £55 13s. 4d.

Before whom: Geoffrey Fielding, Mayor of the Staple of Westminster.

Endorsement: The reply of John Bromer and Henry Brice {Bryce}, Sheriffs: Thomas Sutton was not found in the bailiwick. They have seized all his lands into the King's hands.

Inquisition and return: Date to be returned: 07/06/1467. Attached is the inquisition made at the Guildhall in London on 04/06/1467. On the day of the recognisance Nicholas Gyrhuntton, gentleman, John Walsh, goldsmith, William Massam, chaplain, and Robert Kingston, vintner [these men being the debtors' trustees], were seized of: 6 messuages with 1 garden, and 16 cottages and 2 storehouses in the Parish of St John Zachary in Aldersgate Ward in the City of London; and 25 messuages in the Parish of St Mary Staining in the same ward; and 9 messuages and 2 cottages in the Parishes of St Anne and St Agnes in the same ward. These they conveyed to Thomas Sutton on 06/8/1465. One of the 6 messuages in St John Zachary, inhabited by a goldsmith, is worth 22s. a year after expenses; a second, inhabited by a tailor, is worth 12s. a year after expenses; a third, inhabited by a goldsmith, is worth 25s. after expenses. The fourth messuage, with an adjacent garden, where Thomas Ursewyk, the Recorder of London resides, is worth £7 a year after expenses. The fifth messuage, in which a goldsmith lives, is worth 15s. after expenses; the sixth, in which a joiner now lives is worth 25s. after expenses. Of the group of 16 cottages in St John Zachary: 12 are worth 3s. 4d. a year after expenses; 3 others of the 16 are worth 4s. a year; and another 18d. after expenses. Two storehouses in St John Zachary are worth 2s. Of the group of 25 messuages in the Parish of St Mary Staining: 14 messuages are worth 7s. a year; 4 others are worth 6s. ?8d.; and one other 53s. 4d. after expenses; 4 others are worth 3s. 4d. after expenses; and another 9s. Of the group of 9 messuages in the Parishes of St Anne and St Agnes: 4 are worth 7s. a year; 3 others are worth 9s.; another 30s.; and another 16s. The 2 cottages are each worth 3s. 4d. The total value of the property is £29 15s. 2d.
