Debtor: Thomas Sutton, the son and heir of John Sutton, alderman and goldsmith, of London, now deceased.

Inquisition and return: Date to be returned: 25/06/1466. Attached is an inquisition made at the Guildhall in the City of London before William Constantine {Costantyne} and Henry Waver, Sheriffs of London. Nicholas Girlington, gentleman, John Walsh, goldsmith, William Massam, chaplain, and Robert Kingson, vintner, were, before the recognisance, seized of: 6 messuages with a garden and 16 cottages in the Parish of St John Zachary in Aldersgate Ward in London; and 25 messuages in the Parish of St Mary Staining; and 10 messuages and 2 cottages in the Parishes of St Anne and St Agnes in the same ward. They gave this property to Thomas Sutton at the time of the recognisance, on 05/10/1465. One of the 6 messuages in the Parish of St John Zachary is worth £4 after expenses; another, 16s. 8d.; another, 10s.; another, 20s.; another, 10s.; and another, 20s: all after expenses. Of the 16 cottages, each of 12 is worth 12d. a year; three are worth 20d. each; and one is worth 6d. One of the 25 messuages in the Parish of St Mary Staining is worth 26s. 8d.; 11 messuages are worth 5s. 4d. each; four are worth 12d. each; two are worth 6s. each; three are worth 4s. each; the remaining four are worth 3s. 4d each. Of those in the Parishes of St Anne and St Agnes one is worth 20s.; another, 10s.; another, 8s.; another, 6s. 8d.; 2 messuages are worth 6s. each; and 4 messuages 5s. each. The other two are worth 12d. each. The total value is £15 10d.
