Debtor: Thomas de Poynings {Ponynges} knight, of Hants., Hugh de Poynings, esquire, the son and heir of Thomas.

Endorsement: On behalf of John Ashburnham, Sheriff: the writ was sent to Walter Broke, bailiff of the liberty of Thomas, Earl of Arundel, of Arundel. All the lands and chattels of Thomas and Hugh were extended and seized into the King's hands. Attached, also, a duplicate of the writ.

Inquisition and return: Date given for return to Chancery: 6.10.1403. Attached is the inquisition made at Halnaker {Halfnakede} [Box and Stockbridge Hundred, Sussex]. Thomas Poynings, knight, and Hugh de Poynings, esquire, the son and heir of Thomas, were seized of the manor of Halnaker, which was worth 20m. a year after expenses, of the manor of Walkerton, which is worth £10 a year after expenses, of the manor of Bernham, which is worth £10 after expenses, of the manor of Middleton, worth 100s. a year, of the manor of Woodcote, worth 100s., and of the manor of Westerton, worth 40s.
