Nature of request
William de Mulcastre requests that he may have entry into his lands at Threapland by surety, and delay his homage until the king next comes to England. He states that the lands were detained following his brother's death, and although an inquest has been returned, he has not been allowed entry until he pays homage.

An order to deliver these lands to the petitioner was issued on 9 November 1304 (CFR 1272-1307, p.501), although that states that William had performed homage. Nevertheless, presumably the petition dates from around this time.
