Note (Additional information about the record)
- The friars requested this property in 1297, following Gumer's execution and the confiscation of his lands, but the resultant inquisition (E 143/26/13, dated 29 July 1297 and presumably that referred to in this petition) denied their request (VCH Yorkshire, vol. III). Gumer's son later granted them property in the town (CPR 1292-1301, p.416).
