SC 8/337/15912
Date
[1327]
Description
Petitioners
Alexander Bicknor, Archbishop of Dublin.
Name(s)
Bicknor, Alexander
Addressees
King and council.
Places mentioned
Ireland.
Nature of request
[This petition is damaged and incomplete.] The Archbishop of Dublin requests allowance at the Exchequer of £28 owed to him from the time when the temporalities of his see were in the king's hands for offences relating to his account as Treasurer of Ireland, and for which he has since been pardoned, as shown in the attached transcript.
Nature of endorsement
Coram Rege.Order the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer to search the rolls and remembrances of the Exchequer, and view the writ of pardon, and if it is found that the goods and chattels were in the hands of the king when the said pardon was made, then allow the sum to the archbishop.
Note
The copy of the writ mentioned in the petition is now at SC 8/337/15913. The original writ was dated 28 February 1327, and this petition, and that copy, were presumably created soon afterwards, and probably before the enquiry ordered on 8 July 1327 (CCR 1327-30, pp.144-5).
