Nature of request
Pymount requests that the justices assigned to hear his suit be commanded to proceed in their process, and that they commence and assign a certain day to the petitioner more hastily so that they can determine le trespass committed by various people of the Isle of Wight according to the law and usages of the realm. He and his companions of Spain charged a ship called 'le nief Seynt Marie de Seynt Ander' at Seville in Spain with various goods such as wax, grain, fur, skin, oil almonds and the ship was wrecked on the coast of the Isle of Wight, and the cargo brought ashore, but many people came and carried away the goods to their great damage. He petitioned to the council because the king was overseas and they assigned Foxley and others to examine the matter and hear and determine the trespasses, but the case has been much delayed so that the petitioner has expended all that he has.
