[The petition has been struck through].Boniface requests that the king will order distress upon the goods of the companies of Florence in England so that the merchants for whom he is proctor can have hasty remedy and restitution of their money which Rethes had from them and has gone overseas. The king's father commanded the commonalty of Florence to assign a certain day to make satisfaction to the merchants, the which day is now passed and no satisfaction has still been made.

The petition is dated to 1307-c. 1310 as it refers to an order by the king's father and relates to the collapse of the... company in the last years of the reign. It seems unlikely that the petition was submitted that long after the accession of Edward II.
