Abbot of Keynsham; Roger de la Ware; Maurice de Berkeleye (Berkley).
Name(s)
Ware; de Berkeleye (Berkley), Roger; Maurice
Addressees
King and council.
Occupation
Abbot of Keynsham
Nature of request
The abbot, Ware and Berkeleye request that the perambulation be made in the chase of Kingswood just as it is made elsewhere in the forest. Their woods outside Bristol adjoin the chase of Kingswood and goats and other animals often are allowed to go out of the chase by the constable and foresters.
Nature of endorsement
When the king causes perambulations to be made elsewhere they will be made in the places contained in the petition.
Places mentioned
Keynsham, [Somerset]
Bristol
Kingswood Chase, Gloucestershire.
Note
The petition is dated to c. 1285-1307 as it is clearly in the reign of Edward I, making reference to Henry, the king's father, and the hand would suggest a petition later in the reign.
