The writ and its fellows formerly enclosed with the petition - SC 8/322/E528 - date to 1307 with that petition. All of the writs are dated at Carlisle in March, and must have been issued following the January parliament held at Carlisle in that year, and before the death of King Edward I at Burgh-by-Sands close by on 7 July 1307.
