The petition is dated to c. 1311-c. 1321 as Robert de Madingley, mention in the petition as one of the justices before whom a plea of novel disseisin was brought, began to serve on commissions of oyer and terminer in 1311, and was dead by 1321 (CPR 1307-13, p. 419; CPR 1317-21, p. 606). Henry Spigurnel, the other justice mentioned served as justice of King's Bench from 1301-1323.
