Note
The petition is dated to? 1295 based on the reference to the date of the taking of the malted barley, Saturday next before the feast of Saints Philip and James in 33 Edw. I. However, this is problematic because Sir William de Carlisle was not appointed to office until 4 March 1296, so that any complaint concerning him must date to after this (CPR 1292-1301, p.185).
