Bowes requests remedy as he was sued by writ by Wharton, Threlkeld and Goldington for land in Newbiggin, and his attorney died at Pontefract on his way to London and he lost his land in default though he was ignorant of his attorney's death because he was on the king's service in Scotland as Swinburn attests.
