The parson requests that Neville and Burnham be assigned and that he can go at his deliverance as he has been detained in prison at Lincoln for three years for receiving his brothers for which he was indicted before Bereford and Mallory then assigned to hear and determine who killed Robert de Rothwell, his father.

The petition is dated to c. 1306 as the original commission into the death of Robert de Rothwell referred to in the petition was made on 20 September 1303, and the petitioner refers to himself as being imprisoned for three years because he was indicted before the justices assigned in that commission (CPR 1301-7, p.194).
