Thornton requests remedy and that he be granted recovery of his debt as he paid a sum to Guy to be repaid at London at the feast of the Purification of Our Lady next or in 1260 little florins of gold in the court of Rome within the same Purification but has received little of this and cannot make recovery as the company has been expelled from the realm.

The petition is dated to c. 1305 as the petition refers to the money being paid in 33 [Edw. I] and the sum being due for payment in the feast of the Purification of Our Lady next, which in all likelihood refers to February 1306, the petition dating to some time after this but still within Edward I's reign.
