Nature of request
Hastinges states that whereas he is one of the heirs of the earl of Chester, and requests that he can have either the lands assigned to his ancestors in tenancy according to the charter of Henry III for his part of his inheritance, or that he can have lands to their value. The lands finally delivered by Henry III did not amount to the value of the purparty.
