Full description and record details

Reference
SC 8/321/E482
Date
[c. 1280-1307]
Description
Petitioners
Robert le Saucir.
Name(s)
Saucir, Robert
Addressees
King.
Places mentioned
Oxford, [Oxfordshire]
Lewes, [Sussex]
Evesham, [Worcestershire].
Nature of request
Saucir requests that he can have allowance of his wages at the Exchequer in the form accustomed in the Wardrobe, or another provision as he has served the king since the time of the Provisions of Oxford and was with him at the battles of Lewes and Evesham until after the coronation whereafter he was granted offices, but he is now old and poor.
Nature of endorsement
He should content himself with what he has.
Note
The petition is dated to c. 1280-1307 as the petition is evidently of the reign of Edward I, and the petitioner was a participant in the battles of Lewes and Evesham so that it would seem likely that the petition must date to some way into Edward I's reign.
