Somery, Margery
Addressees
Justices of the king.
Nature of request
Somery complains of Newcastle and requests remedy as she has brought a writ of conspiracy before the king against Herne and others but she is not able to have her recovery by the conspiracy of Newcastle with Herne to her great damage.
Nature of endorsement
Command the sheriffs of London and Middlesex [to appear] on the Tuesday after the Purification. Not prosecuted.

Middlesex.
People mentioned

Walter en le Herne.
Note
The petition is dated to c. 1311 based upon the reference to Henry de Novo Castro as sheriff of Middlesex in the petition. Novo Castro does not appear in the list of sheriffs of London and Middlesex, but it is clear from a reference in the close rolls that he served probably in the period of Michaelmas 1311-Michaelmas 1312, perhaps replacing one of those appearing in the list for that year because of their death (List of Sheriffs, p. 201).
