The abbot and convent request that they be granted by charter the common to pasture and chase their beasts throughout the New Forest as they have been accustomed to do since their foundation as the stewards at their first coming have aggrieved the abbot and convent as the common is not specified in their charter of foundation. They are prepared to pay a fine for this.
