Note
The petition is dated to 1296-1297 in accordance with the dating of another petition by the same petitioners (SC 8/131/6507). The petition follows on from the construction of Beaumaris castle in 1295. The petition is rather unusual in that it is addressed to John de Droxford, almost certainly in his capacity as keeper of the Wardrobe, he holding that office from 20 November 1295 until 8 July 1307.
