Nature of request
The people request remedy as they have resided in the garrison of the town for the last 7 years and have suffered hunger, thirst and much other evil for want of wages, and have lost and pledged horses, armour and other things for default of payment, and the victuallers keep moving, will not account with them and provide wine and other victuals of little value. The king ordered at the parliament of Northampton that they be issued with clothes and money and no one can meet this because of the mischief that they have suffered.
