Commons of the wapentake of Bassetlaw in Nottinghamshire.

Nature of request
The commons request that the wapentake be taken back into the hand of the sheriff and only let to sufficient people of the country by the assent of the commons for the ancient farm. They have only paid £10 through the hand of the sheriff until the time of Kirkby when it was significantly increased, and it has been let so high that the farmers have inflicted all manner of extortions on the people so that they are impoverished.
