- The commons request that the wapentake be taken back into the hand of the sheriff and only let to sufficient people of the country by the assent of the commons for the ancient farm. They have only paid £10 through the hand of the sheriff until the time of Kirkby when it was significantly increased, and it has been let so high that the farmers have inflicted all manner of extortions on the people so that they are impoverished.

- The petition is dated to c. 1315 as it refers to the commitment of the farm to Gaillard Sailly and this occurred on 28 December 1315, and he was replaced by 24 April 1316 (CFR 1307-19, pp.267, 275).
