Gray requests the king's aid and grace of a sum due him as appears by bill that he has of his account so that he can acquit the ransom for his wife and children who were taken by the enemy at the taking of Berwick. He has served the king and his father and has lost the profit from his land in Northumberland, and all his remaining goods in Berwick.
