Nature of request
[Petition in three parts:]1) Beenley, who has served the king in his garrison at Berwick requests pardon and acquittance of an annual rent of £8 owed to Earl Patrick for land which his father held from him, and which is forfeit because of enmity of the earl, and which is collected by the sheriff of Northumberland.2) He requests the replacement of his horse lost in his service so that he can continue in service.3) He requests the provision of clothes for him and his wife as they were robbed of their movables and clothes by the Scottish enemy.

The petition is dated to 1318-1327 as the petition is clearly in the reign of Edward II and after the fall of Berwick to the Scots in March 1318. It is possible that this petition is part of the group of petitions that formed an original file at the end of file 318 dating to 1318-1319.
