Nature of request
Chaumbre requests grace as the king ordered the bishop of Durham to find suitable sustenance for her in the hospital of Sherburn because her husband was killed in the defence of Berwick castle, but the bishop answered that the hospital was already too burdened. She requests a grant of part of the victuals to be taken at Newcastle whereof she is able to live.
