[The petition is badly damaged. Parts of the first request are illegible, and the full sense of the remaining requests is not recoverable. Petition in four parts:]1) Hastinges requests the restoration of a charter that Henry III granted to Henry and Ada de Hastings, his ancestors, concerning their claim to the purparty of the earldom of Chester, he having sued for the same to the king's father, and Bishop Langton then took it.2) Hastinges makes a request concerning his hereditary claim concerning the napery served at the coronation of the king and queen, the service of which pertains to his fee since he holds the manor of Ashley [...].3) Hastinges makes a request for delivery of certain [manors] as one of the heirs of King Alexander III as the bishop of Durham was summoned concerning the manors of Wark, Great Salkeld, Langwathby, Carleton and Scotby [...].4) Hastinges requests the restoration of Newcastle Emlyn which was taken from Maredudd [...].
