The heirs and land tenants request grace and that they be absolved of the 1,000 marks demanded in the Exchequer according to the pardon (recited in full) granted to Gregory de Rokesle for trespasses committed against the late king. Rokesle was arraigned within the Tower of London before Kirkby and stated that he came as keeper of the Exchange and not as mayor of London, he having given the seal of the mayoralty to Assewy at Barking church for which Kirkby took the city into the king's hand.
