Nature of request
Graftone requests a writ to Hepetone to render the arrears of his wages from his time which he had by commandment of the king by writ of the Exchequer at 20d. a day. He makes a similar request for the payment of arrears from Cave and Ancoats from the time that the bailiwick was in the custody of the king.

The petition is dated to 1311-1313 as Cave and Ancoats were acting as keepers of the Templar lands during these years, they first appearing in December 1311, and having been removed from office by 3 January 1314 (CPR 1307-13, pp. 415, 440, 467; CCR 1307-13, pp.384, 480, 516; CCR 1313-18, pp.11, 24, 35).
