Nature of request
Mortain requests that he be pardoned the sum that is currently in demand for the two years arrears of the extent of the manor of Quixeley, and that it be granted that he be quit until the coming of age of the infant in aid of his sustenance. He was granted the manor for his losses in the service of the king and his father but has had little profit since the coming of John de Lilleburn and the burning and destruction of the Scots.
