Arnold de Luk, merchant of Gascony.

de Luk, Arnold

King and council.
Occupation
merchant of Gascony
Nature of request
Luk for him and his fellow merchants of Gascony requests payment for wine taken for the king's use by Rokesle, Say and Waldeschef when they were butlers, as they have not been paid and are impoverished. They requested payment at the last parliament but the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer have not paid them.

Coram rege et magno consilio.
Places mentioned
Gascony, [France].
People mentioned
Adam de Rokesle, butler of the king
Henry de Say, butler of the king
Walter de Waldeschef, butler of the king.
Note
The petition is dated to c. 1316-c. 1318 as Waldeshef was no longer butler by August 1316 when allowances were being made on his account, and in 1318 the petitioner appears regularly in the patent rolls in connection with sums due to him [CCR 1313-18, p.362; CPR 1317-21, pp.117, 162, 198]. There is a strong possibility that the petition dates to 1318.
