Nature of request
The merchants request that the king ordain that they are able to have allowance of the prest taken from beyond the correct custom, namely two marks on each sack of wine, 300 pelts and on a last of leather between 17 September 11 [Edw. II] and Michaelmas 12 [Edw. II], and although the king has promised to restore this the collectors do not wish to do so.
Nature of endorsement
Coram magno consilio.

The petition is dated to c. 1318 as the contents refer to the prest being levied in the period 17 September, 11 [Edw. II] to Michaelmas, 12 [Edw. II].
