Full description and record details

Reference
SC 8/317/E266
Date
[1315-1318]
Description
Petitioners
Roger Daumery (Damory), keeper of the castle and honour of Knaresborough.
Name(s)
Daumery (Damory), Roger
Addressees
[None specified].
Places mentioned
Knaresborough, [West Riding of Yorkshire]
Eprot stream [unidentified], [West Riding of Yorkshire].
Nature of request
[Petition in three parts:] Daumery requests writs to rebuild a grange destroyed by the wind, a bovariam, and a water mill called 'Utlagmilne' destroyed by the river.
Nature of endorsement
[None].
Note
The petition is dated to 1315-1318 as the petitioner held his office from January 1315 to January 1318 [CFR 1307-19, pp.224, 351]. The guard note suggests that the petition dates to 1318, but as the petitioner clearly was still keeper in the petition, this seems unlikely. If SC 8/317/E265 does belong with this petition, though the exact relationship is unclear, then this petition is clearly later than May 1315.
