Nature of request
Belhouse requests grace and remedy and that she be discharged of demands made on her for the debts of her husband as she purchased with her husband the manors of Stanway and Ramsden Bellhouse and for the debts that her husband owed from his long term as sheriff of Cambridgeshire, the late treasurer having extended the manors for the payment of the debt, as she purchased those tenements as much as her husband and she does not see why she should be charged for them.
Nature of endorsement
She should go to the Exchequer and let it be considered there if she was enfeoffed before her husband was sheriff or after, and if it is before then she should be discharged, and if after then let the debt be attermined according to the discretion of the treasurer and barons having regard to the sustenance of the wife.S [Exchequer].
