Nature of request
Salebury requests grace and remedy as he came to London to undertake business and the sergeants of the town together with the searchers attached him and imprisoned him and still imprison him even though he has purchased writs of delivery to the sheriffs of London.
Nature of endorsement
The bailiffs of London came before the council and said that they attached him because he discharged cloth and other merchandise at Greenwich against the form of the proclamation etc. And he answered that he discharged the cloth there to carry it to Wiinchester and pay the alnage there according to the custom throughout the realm, and he did not understand that this was wrong. It is agreed by the council that he make a fine for the fault and make a fine for 100s.
