[Petition in two parts:]1) Coterel warns the king concerning the wardship and marriage of the manor of Darley as the king should have the custody of the heirs and lands of Darley as they are held of the king in chief of the honour of the Peak and have been so held for 100 years until the king was deceived by his bailiffs, though Coterel has since recovered the king's seisin. Now the Snittertons have put a bill to the council requesting delivery of a moiety of the manor by virtue of an inquisition taken and returned into Chancery which was taken with all the allies of Ralph de Snitterton.2) Coterel further shows that Snitterton has sold the woods of Darley, and dowered his wife with a third of the manor of Darley, and others are dowered of lands when they ought not to be.
