Nature of request
The Coffyns request remedy of the deceits and evils suffered by them as they had protections from the king while Robert Coffyn resided in the Scottish war but despite this the sheriff of Bedford came and levied a sum from Robert Coffyn's goods and chattels for a statute merchant at the suit of Medbourne to the great damage of the petitioners. In addition Medbourne has had the same sum levied from Cossington who was bound in the same statute as Coffyn which is beyond the sum of the statute again to their damage.
