Nature of request
Polegroyn requests the grant of the bailiwick of Dartmoor for his life as it was held in the times of the earl for the imprisonment and maiming and other great losses that he has suffered in the king's service, this he asks for reward as the letters that he had before these hours to abbots and priors are of no value.
Nature of endorsement
The king has granted and wills that it be done if it can be, and upon this he should await the presence of the treasurer.The treasurer answered him that he should come to the Exchequer in the feast of St Michael and there will be the bailiffs of Cornwall and Devon and it will be enquired of them of the value, condition and other circumstances relating to the bailiwick and he will be answered:
