Nature of request
Arblaster requests that a writ be granted to the escheator or to others who are able to enquire upon the matter of his inheritance, as his father had the keeping of the prison of Exeter and of all the prisoners sent there holding the same office in sergeanty and with the keeping of property of the prisoners, but after his death the king placed the petitioner in the keeping of Pin during his minority and when he received his inheritance he retained the keeping of the property and also the keeping of wealthy prisoners who he kept in Exeter Castle to the petitioner's and the king's disinheritance. The inquisition is to be returned into Chancery or the Exchequer so that the petitioner is able to have remedy.
Nature of endorsement
He should go to the Exchequer and show there what he has upon the contents of the petition, and a writ should be made to summon the sheriff to answer for the right of the king.
