Description

Roger Springhose.
Name(s)
Springhose, Roger
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Springhose requests that a writ be commanded to allow his account which is sealed with Estraunge's seal, as Springhose when he was sheriff of Shropshire and Staffordshire was commanded to be attendant upon Estraunge who commanded the host in Merioneth, and at that time Luwe delivered a sum of money to pay for foot-soldiers but Estraunge commanded the use of it for other purposes and the treasurer and barons of the Exchequer will not allow the account without a further command of the king because it was put to a different use.1)
Nature of endorsement
He should go to the Exchequer and show there his warrant if he has it of Estraunge or another etc.2) This response is insufficient therefore he should sue a new petition at the next parliament, and it is granted by the treasurer and barons that in the meantime he should have respite.
