Nature of request
Hauteyn requests that he be granted reasonable aid from his inheritance for his sustenance and for that of his wife and children and that remainder be taken until the fine made by his father to the king is paid, as the extent leaves nothing for his and their sustenance.
Nature of endorsement
He should go to the Exchequer and have restitution of the lands as heir, and let the extent of the lands be considered, and allowance made to the same as seems reasonable for his sustenance, and let the treasurer and barons make attermination according to their discretion.Afterwards on 28 November in the 31st year it was granted by the treasurer and barons that of the £37 at which the two parts of the land were extended at per annum, he should be allowed £17 per annum for the sustenance of the petitioner, his wife and children, with terms for payment of the £20 residue per annum with provision for the dower on the death of his mother.
