Nature of request
The prior and monks, whose house is a cell of Castle Acre, request that the king will release his demand for £20 per annum which he takes because it is intended that they are French when they are English and always have been, and only have £40 of land and rent to sustain them.1)
Nature of endorsement
To the Exchequer, and let justice be done there etc.2) They should have respite until the octave of Hilary, and let it be ordered to the sheriff that [. . .] etc.3) S [Exchequer].
