The people request remedy since during a plea between them and the abbot on a writ of trespass the abbot has maintained armed evildoers in the town that persecute, wound and despoil the goods of those involved in the plea, and have killed their attorney and two of his servants, and the evildoers have been indicted but nothing is done concerning their attachment as the abbot has the liberty of the seven hundreds and return of shrieval writs.1)

They should sue before the justices assigned for the trespasses . . ., and if anything new is attempted they should sue by the common law.2) Let it remain.
