- The petition is dated to? 1302 as the majority of petitions in this file probably date to this year. The guard note suggests the widest possible date of 1299-1307 being the date of the marriage and the death of Edward I, but suggests a date of 1300 being more likely. Though this slightly earlier date is possible, it seems more likely that the petition is part of this group of petitions from 1302.
