Description
Petitioners
Sabine Pecche, widow of Nicholas Pecche.
Name(s)
Pecche, Sabine
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Pecche requests remedy and that she is able to have recovery against her co-parceners of her inheritance as she and her husband were assigned the forestry of all the county of Somerset but this is so diminished by the perambulation of the forest that there is nothing left to the keeper. Her sisters received other lands as the court did not wish to break up this office held by sergeanty, but she is disinherited without fault and without her agreement since it was made under cover of her husband and by assignment of court.1)
Nature of endorsement
She should sue at the next parliament.2) Let it remain.
Places mentioned
Somerset.
People mentioned
Nicholas Pecche, late husband of the petitioner.
Note
The petition is dated to c. 1302 in accordance with the dating of many of the petitions in this file. The petitioner's husband died in 1295, but the contents of the petition would support the speculative later date with a diminished inheritance (CIPM, vol. III, no.289).
