Copy of letters patent of Henry III, dated at Ditton on 11 June 1238, granting to Henry and Ada Hastings several manors in exchange for Ada's share of the inheritance from her brother from the earldom of Chester in Cheshire.
Nature of endorsement
[On face:]The charter was examined in parliament at Westminster on Monday next before the Gules of August in 30 Edward [I] in the presence of Langton, Brabazon, Bereford, Roubiry and Kirkley.[On dorse:]Hastings demands Bromsgrove, Bolsover with the castle, Mansfield and Strattone.

The copy of letters patent are dated to c. 1302 based on the dating of a note on the letters recording its examination at the parliament held at Westminster 30 July 30 Edw [I] which may or may not be an examination contemporary with the petition (SC 8/313/E54). The letters patent are dated in its dating clause 11 June 1238 [22 Hen. III].
